PEORIA - A police standoff in Peoria ends with several people taken in by police.
It started around 9 p.m. Wednesday on the 400 block of Corrington Ave. At least a dozen police vehicles blocked off the road. Multiple visibly armed officers were seen walking around the area.
Police say a tip from an ongoing investigation led them to a house on the street. Once they arrived, police say multiple people were inside but would not come out.
Police spent about an hour trying to get them out of the house. Eventually, everyone inside walked out voluntarily and were taken into custody. No one was hurt.
Police will not say how many people were taken to the police station or what investigation led to the standoff. Police would also not release how the people inside the home were connected to the ongoing investigation.
