Tech Sergeant James McCarroll Jr. always wanted to follow his
father's in his footsteps by enlisting in the armed forces.
After graduating from woodruff high school in 1989, he joined the
United States Army. He served for seven years before he was honorably
discharged. Jim went on to work in the logistics field until 2000, when he
decided to return to military life by enlisting in the Air Force. He was
assigned to the 182nd Air Wing in Peoria as an Air Transportation Specialist.
Between 2004 and 2010, Jim completed three tours in the Middle East. He
recently reenlisted for six more years.
Jim has a wife, two step-children, and a grandson at home. He
enjoys playing golf, softball, and riding his motorcycle. Tech Sergeant James McCarroll
Jr. this week's Hometown Hero.
