New Years Eve Shooting Puts Man In Hospital

PEORIA- A man is recovering after he said he was shot at a downtown Peoria club early Tuesday morning.
It happened just before 3:00 a.m. at Kiss Ultra Lounge, located in the 2,200 block of Southwest Washington street.
Police said when they arrived at the scene, they heard shots fired, and found a handgun near the club. A short time later, officers say a 22-year-old man arrived at Methodist Medical Center with a bullet wound to his ankle. He explained he'd been trying to leave the club, but got shot.
His injury isn't believed to be life threatening.
Police have not made any arrests. Any one with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 673-9000.
