NORMAL - Illinois State University is dealing with a problem straight out of an Alfred Hitchcock movie.
Thousands of crows are invading trees on the quad.
Sidewalks are dotted with crow leftovers. The birds are even making their presence known with loud noises.
It's been happening for years, but the university believes the crows are getting extra attention this year.
A number of non-harmful measures have been used to try and get rid of the birds, but nothing is working so far.
"We've tried to eradicate the crows by putting up every home method you can think of... pie tins, rubber snakes, plastic owls and all of those sorts of things," said Chuck Scott with facilities management.
The birds are most visible at dusk during the winter and spring. The seasons are consistent with migratory patterns of crows.
