BLOOMINGTON- The city is losing its top cop.
Wednesday, Randy McKinley announced he'll be the police chief in St. Charles, Missouri.
McKinley has been with the Bloomington Police Department since 1984.
He says he and his family love the area, and have found success here.
But the chief wants to move on while he's still marketable.
McKinley's last day will be January 18th.
Bloomington's city manager is in charge of finding his replacement.
He hasn't started the search.
