Zoo Rivarly Leads to Reindeer Twitter Account

BLOOMINGTON - A reindeer at Bloomington's Miller Park Zoo is settling the score with her fellow reindeer.
Rikka and Aelu are in the midst of a friendly competition.
Aelu is known as an up-and-coming diva. She loves taking pictures and making public appearances.
But the zoo worries about Rikka's feelings. Officials don't want her to be left out from the spotlight.
So to get her some attention, the zoo is giving her a new Twitter page.
That's right. You can now follow a reindeer.
Zoo Superintendent Jay Tetzloff said Wednesday the goal is to educate people and raise awareness about the animals.
"I think anytime we can get the zoo out there, people talking about the zoo, it gives us a chance to get some education, to get that engagement, get people out here to the zoo, have them experience the animals," he said.
Rikka's Twitter handle is @RikkaReindeer. She current;y has more followers than the zoo itself.
So far the reindeer's tweets include all the latest zoo gossip and events.
