PEORIA - The city of Peoria is extending a contract with its union workers.
Last November, the two sides struck a deal after heated negotiations. Wednesday, AFSCME said that deal is being extended for 2 years.
AFSCME says the deal provides wage increases each year and preserves longevity pay - which rewards workers for their years of service.
Workers are expected to ratify the contract next week. Then the Peoria City Council has to approve the contract.
