BLOOMINGTON - You may find something a little unique at the Miller Park Zoo gift shop.
The zoo is selling reindeer poop presents.
First, the droppings are sanitized and dehydrated...
Then they're painted and turned into magical jewelry and ornaments.
The items are extremely popular with orders coming in from across the world -- and here in Central Illinois.
Susie Ohley of the Zoological Society said, "They come in to the gift shop. They will be standing in front of the display and ask, 'Where are the reindeer ornaments?', because they heard about them. They will say, 'Oh! They are right in front of us!' They cannot believe it, because they are kind of cute.
Rumor has it -- if you display the droppings on Christmas Eve -- it helps Santa and his reindeer find their way home.
The droppings are fundraiser for the zoo.
It's the fifth year they've been on sale.
