HOSTESS MEDIATION FAILS- PLANS TO LIQUIDATE

Hostess Brands announced Tuesday night mediation talks with its bakers union failed and the company will proceed Wednesday with plans to close down and sell its assets. The mediation came as a surprise to many at the suggestion of a judge after the Twinkie maker said a week long strike by bakers left it no choice but to shut down and seek liquidation. Over 100 workers are affected by the shutdown in Peoria.
