PEORIA -- Lifeline pilots and local country station River 97.3 are teaming up to help the victims of superstorm Sandy.
The station is taking donations that Lifeline pilots will then fly out east early next week.
Morning show host Jenn Smith said the things needed most are basic toiletries, blankets, hand and feet warmers and schools supplies for kids.
She said anything will help, especially because many cannot get to the store. "They can't go and buy things. They can't run and go to their local whatever store because everything is gone. So just trying to get them anything we can to get started again."
River Country is taking donations until Thursday at 5 P.M. The address is: 120 Eaton Street in Peoria.
You can also bring donations to the Peoria Airport at the Byerly Terminal. You can bring donations there until 9 PM Wednesday and Thursday and until 4 PM on Friday.
