Most of the state had favorable weather much of last week allowing the harvest to be nearly completed, according to a release Tuesday from the Illinois Department of Agriculture. 99 percent of the corn has been harvested compared to 96 percent at this time last year while 98 percent of soybeans are out of the field compared to the same a year ago. Topsoil moisture levels have largely recovered from the effects of the drought with 4 percent rated as surplus, 78 percent adequate, and 15 percent short.
