MORTON--One local farm is gearing up for Thanksgiving next
week.
Yordy Turkey Farm in Morton sells thousands of turkeys every
year but this year could be the most.
Owner Brent Yordy says they have more turkeys this year than the previous years because of the demand. He says they have a little under 10-thousand turkeys.
Yordy says he doesn't add preservatives after processing to keep the natural flavor; which is what he says people are looking for.
Yordy says prices of feed went up this year because of a shortage of grain but he doesn't plan on increasing his prices of turkey. He says he will keep his prices the same as last year.
Yordy Turkey Farm sells turkeys between 18-23 lb. at a rate of $2.49/lb.
