Bikers in the Twin Cities took to the streets for a night ride around town. A local advocacy group "Bike Blo-No" is taking action to build awareness among bicyclists about laws related to riding safely at night. The timing of this second ride is designed to also bring attention to the shift from daylight savings time...which happens this weekend. That means more bicyclists will be on the streets after dark. Riders cycled over 4.5 miles through the town of Normal. Participants say it's important to be noticed by drivers at night.

"All these bicyclists they can all list a close call they've had probably recently with a motorist who didn't see them so this is just to let motorists know that we're here."
Bikers are encouraged to wear helmets, reflective clothing, and have a front and rear light installed on their bike.
