BLOOMINGTON--A local company is helping people in need on the east coast.
Wednesday night employees at Joe's Towing departed Bloomington in five semi-trucks each carrying a generator.
They're driving the equipment to New York to help restore electricity.
Generators will be delivered to a local hospital and LaGuardia Airport.
Joe's Towing staff say, when they heard help was still needed on the east coast, they jumped at the chance to lend a hand.
"If it means picking up on a dime and going, to know that we can help somebody, even if we can save one person with the generators that we're transporting that's all worth it to us," said office manager Becky Schimanski.
Joe's towing staff traveled through the night to get to New York.
The generators will be dropped off this evening.
