PEORIA- Step off the sidewalk and into the Gallery on Sheridan to find studios, artwork and row after row of colorful collectables.
"This is a small side gallery where I have my sculptures and my office to run the gallery," said Morgan Elser, on of the resident artists.
She's one of ten artists from all over Central Illinois, and there's room for more. They're the ones behind the paintings, sculptures and custom-made furniture that lines the walls. And the gallery doesn't end there.
"In here, oh this is just a treasure trove," Elser said.
Around the corner is a room full of collectible items like one 1950's Caterpillar tractor and a sign of the old Central Illinois Light Company's Reddy Kilowatt.
"It's just a wonderful place to visit, spend some time, find some treasures," Elser said.
The gallery hosts an open house on the first Friday of every month, that means this Friday, November 2nd. The artists will be there along with a band in the event space.
"There's refreshments. A bit of wine a bit of cheese and enjoy some wonderful art," Elser said.
Elser said she wants to encourage people to experience some culture.
"This is in a world of itself. You walk into the building and it's an energy that just, you feel," Elser said.
Fridays open house is from 5:00 to 9:00 in the evening and it's free to get in.
Regular Gallery Hours are Wednesday and Friday from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday from 11:00 to 4:00 p.m.
