Bond Set in Fatal Hit and Run Accident -Galesburg

Bond was set Monday for a Galesburg woman charged in connection with a fatal hit and run accident early Sunday. A judge set bond at 100 thousand dollars Monday for 33 year old Lakeesha Smith who is charged with felony counts of leaving the scene of a fatal accident, aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol along with lesser felony counts of those charges. Smith was arrested after allegedly striking Knox College student Tundun Lawani while driving on South Street between West and Cedar Streets. According to our news partner, WGIL Radio , Smith was on a felony probation program out of Peoria County when the accident happened.
