With the election one week away, two Republicans are leading in a new poll released Monday as Republicans attempt to hold on to their House majority. In the newly drawn 13th Congressional district, which was once held by Republican Tim Johnson, Republican candidate Rodney Davis is leading his opponent, Democrat David Gill, who has run twice before for a congressional seat, 50 to 45 percent. Meantime, in another hotly contested race in which both parties have poured thousands of dollars into the race, incumbent Bobby Schilling is leading his Democrat opponent Cheri Bustos by a 52 to 48 percent margin. Schilling also garners 16 percent of the democrats and holds a 58 to 42 percent lead in independents.
