NORMAL - Gas prices have been falling to levels we haven't seen in a long time, but one station is the lowest of them all.
When was the last time you saw gas for $2.99 a gallon? Chances are you have to think really hard about it.
But now it's reality again in Normal.
The Fast Stop at College Ave. & Coolidge St. is selling regular unleaded for $2.99 a gallon.
The owner said Monday it has been at least a year since he had prices this low. The owner is also celebrating 10 years in business.
So, he decided to give his customers a break, and they definitely appreciated it.
Cars filled the station parking lot and drivers were eager to save money.
Mark Woolward said, "It's good. Hopefully it stays for a while, but I kind of doubt it."
Lori Hemmer said, "It's a little better on the budget. You know, it's helpful. Every penny counts these days. $2.99 helps."
The Fast Stop is the only station WMBD 31 found in the area selling gas for under $3.00. The owner says he's not sure when prices will go up again.
