Weather Forces Postpone of Construction Work

Weather is forcing the postponement of construction work in East Peoria at westbound I 74 at Pinecrest Drive until Sunday, October 28th. IDOT says the detour and corresponding work will resume at 7am Sunday and will continue through the day, possibly into Monday. The detour is necessary for beam removal and motorists traveling westbound on I 74 should expect delays. Pinecrest Drive traffic will be controlled by flaggers during this time. Pinecrest Drive drivers should also expect delays. This work is part of the project consisting of beam straightening, beam replacement and other collateral work on the structure carrying Pinecrest Drive over I 74. The overall project is expected to be completed in December.
