BLOOMINGTON--The BPD responded to a dob bite call early Thursday afternoon. They say the incident took place on the 1200 block of Orchard street.

When police arrived on scene there was a lot of blood on the ground from the 2 victims. The victims were Connie and Scott Ijam who were passing out phone books to the neighborhood.

Owner Shanie Doss says she was enjoying the nice weather when all of the sudden her two Pit Bulls started barking viciously at the front door. At that point both of them pushed their way through the door and the oldest dog 'Bo' attacked Connie. Her husband Scott tried to pull the dog off when he too got bit. Doss ran outside to help as well but wasn't able to get her dog under control.

Rescue arrived on scene to aid the Ijams but they were sent to OSF St. Joseph Hospital for further treatment. Police say their injuries were non life-threatening but they did receive serious injuries.

The McLean County Animal Control took both of Doss' Pit Bulls away from her for the time being. They want to evaluate if the dogs are safe enough to bring home. Doss says she understand that BPD want to euthanize her oldest dog but not her youngest. She says the younger dog stayed on the porch when the incident happened.
