BLOOMINGTON- Residents in east Bloomington are getting a final look at a highly anticipated park.

The Bloomington Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department rolled out the final design plans  for the proposed Eagle View Park in east Bloomington. The public meeting was held at Morningstar Church in Bloomington.

The meeting comes after initial plans were met with concerns for more parking and lighting. Those features are now added to the project, but could push the cost higher than the estimated $1 million construction costs.

The city was granted a $400,000 grant for the project. Residents said they are pleased with the new changes and hope construction can start soon.

"Hopefully this spring, they'll have their next meeting and get started with the grant money they have. And at least get something for us to enjoy, at least our kids before they're in high school," said resident Sue McCormick.

The park was first proposed five years ago. There's no word yet on when construction would begin.
