PEORIA--The city's first Chick-fil-A opens in less than 48 hours and hundreds are vying to be front of the line at the big event.
That's because the first 100 hundred customers get free Chick-fil-A for one year.
The popular tradition takes place at each restaurant opening.
To qualify, people can start lining up at six tomorrow morning.
Chick-fil-A expects massive crowds, and has even hired security to keep the situation under control.
"We do it just to make everybody safe," said franchise operator Jason Counselman. "When you get a large crowd together it's just standard procedure to make sure everybody's safe."
The restaurant opens this Thursday morning at six.
Staff members say people come from across the country to try and earn free meals for a year.
