Ohio Man Crashes into IDOT Truck, Dies on I-55/74

BLOOMINGTON - One man is dead after a traffic crash on Interstate 55/74 in west Bloomington.
It happened around noon Tuesday north of the Market St. overpass near mile marker 160.
Police said Gregory B. Malin of Shaker Heights, Ohio was driving a pick-up truck in a northbound lane when it slammed into the back of an orange Illinois Department of Transportation truck.
The driver of the IDOT truck and their passenger were not hurt, and the cause of the crash is being investigated.
An autopsy is set for Wednesday.
Northbound traffic on the interstate had to be reduced to one line while emergency crews responded and cleaned up the crash.
