Scattered rain and strong winds hampered the Illinois harvest a bit last week. Topsoil moisture is now rated as 5 percent very short, 17 percent short, 72 percent adequate and 6 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture was reported as 21 percent very short, 44 percent short, 33 percent adequate, and 2 percent surplus. 92 percent of the corn has been harvested compared to 75 percent at this time last year. Soybean harvest increased to 80 percent.
