PEORIA -- We're following up on the grand opening of the Peoria Riverfront Museum and Caterpillar Visitor's Center.

Everything appears to have gone according to plan.

Museum President and CEO Jim Richerson said opening day met all of his expectations. He estimates more than 2,000 people came through the doors and left satisified.

He said, It feels great to really see the museum operating you know, lots of conversation and years of planning and to really see this facility functioning it's just really great."

There's one part of the museum that hasn't opened yet.

That's the Giant Screen Movie Theater. The first show kicks off tomorrow morning at 11:45.

It's showing the National Geographic movie "Sea Monsters."
