PEORIA -- Earlier this month, we told you about Elizabeth Grant. She's a mom who's battling an incurable disease. Today, she's getting a lot of support for a mission that's close to her heart.

Hundreds of people are attending a fundraiser at the Expo Gardens in Peoria called "Hope, Skip and Jump."

It's the first of its kind for the Grant family. They need help paying medical bills and Elizabeth is worried about her kids' education once she's gone.

All the proceeds today will go to a special fund to make sure they're provided for.

Organizer and friend Sarah Coleman said, "I found some amazing people who helped us put this together. So it was absolutely amazing how many people wanted to help the Grant Family."

Elizabeth said she is so grateful for all of the support. "I am, I can't even describe all the emotions going through me right now. Part of me wants to cry and part of me wants to jump up an down. It's just humbling and I'm just so moved. I can't believe how beautiful the place looks and how many people are here and how many people are smiling and having so much fun and its just incredible."

Elizabeth was diagnosed with stage four bone cancer in 2010 and is waiting to undergo her eighth round of Chemotherapy.

To help the Grant Family you can stop by an CEFCU location and make a donation. Also, you can read Elizabeth's blog and make a donation on her website at http://www.deadmanskipping.com.
