Home Sales, Median Prices Show Gains in Illinois

SPRINGFIELD- Home sales increased nearly 16 percent over previous year
levels in September, according to the Illinois Association of Realtors.
The sales report was coupled with data showing the median price of a
home in the state rose 2.2 percent. Statewide home sales in September
totaled 10,689 up from 9220 last September. The statewide median price
in September was $139,000, up 2.2 percent from a year ago. 45 Illinois
counties showed year over year home sale increases including McLean up
3.9 percent and Peoria up 8.8 percent.
