In the race for the 18th Congressional District seat, Republican Incumbent Aaron Schock is facing Democrat Steve Waterworth.  Our question: What must be done to make the U.S. Postal Service profitable?

Aaron Schock:
" I'm a big supporter of the U.S. Postal Service, but there's just as much mail today if not more, actually there's more being circulated today than there was even a decade ago. So, this notion that because of the online presence and email that the demand for mail has gone down is ludicrous. There's actually more mail being mailed today. The problem is the overhead and the cost structure of the postal service has continued to grow at a faster rate and so we shouldn't be looking to congress or the federal government for a bailout, but we ought to be able to allow the postal service to fix itself and find new revenue streams, new items that they can sell at the postal service building."

Steve Waterworth:
"I thinks it's a political problem for the republicans because postal service workers are unionized and we can privatize the postal service we can do away with these unions, and time and time again, across America we see unions under attack, this is just one more example of it."
