A Normal resident, who pleaded guilty Thursday to burglarizing a gas station last spring, was sentenced to six years in prison but given credit for 153 days already served, according to court officials. 40 year old Jason Payne was arrested after police claim he climbed to the roof of the Huck's on North Hershey. According to our news partner WJBC Radio, an employee called police to report the incident. Police responded and a foot chase ensued. The store employee, according to WJBC, told police Payne had been to the store previously in hopes of hiding until the store closed at which time he would have unchecked access to the beer cooler.
