Caterpillar Unveils First Hybrid Excavator

Caterpillar unveiled the first model of its new line of hybrid excavators Tuesday. The Cat 336 E H is the company's first machine to use a novel hydraulic hybrid technology developed internally by Caterpillar. Caterpillar claims field tests have demonstrated the machine will significantly lower customers' owning and operating costs. Cat dealers will begin taking orders next February with factory shipments beginning the following month.
