PEORIA -- The Peoria County Bar Association is trying to bring more minorities into its membership.
The association held its ninth annual Diversity Luncheon today. Community members, students and leaders attended the event.
The Diversity Committee Leader Bob Jennetten said the goal is to have an association that reflects the city it leads.
He hopes this event is another step toward bringing more minorities to work in Peoria. He said, "We hope that by promoting these things we'll have more and more minority lawyers willing to come and serve our population."
In part of its efforts, the committee also recruits law students in hopes to bring more attention to this area.
