Salvation Army Officially Takes Over YWCA Day Center Responsibilities

PEORIA -- The Salvation Army is officially taking on the YWCA'S Day Center responsibilities.
The Salvation Army was previously only open Monday through Friday.
Director Glenavery Lucas said this weekend it was serving almost 70 homeless people.
She said the final adjustments are still in the works. Right now it's looking to hire more staff and offer a series of programs during the daytime hours.
