Tanners Orchard Marks Its 65th Year

SPEER--Tanners Orchard has been around for over a century but in Central Illinois, this year marks the 65th year.
Tanners started in the early 1900s in Switzerland by Rudolph Tanner. He and his wife moved to Deer Creek, IL and continued the business. After generations of Tanners and apples, the orchard is in Speer, IL and Richard Tanner is now one of the owners to date.
Tanner says through careful business tactics and his wife Marylin's management the business has been able to survive the past couple decades.
Tanners Orchard is open to the public now through the end of November.
