46th District Candidates on Ban of Assualt Weapons

Leading up to next month's election, we're finding out where local candidates stand on the issues. In the race for the 46th district Senate Seat Race, Republican Pat Sullivan is challenging incumbent Democrat Dave Koehler.Tonight we're talking to the candidates about Illinois' gun laws.The Governor wants to ban assault weapons.Do you agree with this?
Sullivan:
"We have a second ammendment. Let's follow it"
Koehler:
"When we go down that road, we have to understand what's plaguing our neighborhoods and our cities right now is the illegal use of weapons. And there's not anyone of, or very few, that have a FOID card if they've committed a murder or violent crime in our neighborhoods.The two things are totally separate so let's deal with one in one fashion and let's deal with one in another way."
