NORMAL--A group of twin cities men have been named "Man of the Year" for their community outreach efforts.
The second annual Extraordinary/Ordinary Men of the Year awards ceremony took place Thursday night at the Uptown Normal Marriott.
It recognizes those who go above and beyond to selflessly give back to others.
Outreach efforts include working at a food pantry, donating items to people in need, or providing care and educations to those without.
This year's winners are:
-Phani Aytam
-Rev. William Bennett
-Jeff Fritzen
-Bob Hathway
-David Kieser
-Mike Matejka
A separate award was given to the family of the late Denny Marquardt who owned and operated Denny's Doughnuts.
For years Marquardt donated sweet treats to many community causes.
Congratulations to all from WMBD-31.
