EAST PEORIA - The father of New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi has died.
Jerry Girardi is from East Peoria. He passed away Saturday at Snyder Village in Metamora.
Joe Girardi is expected to manage Thursday night's Yankees game.
A funeral service will be held Monday. Jerry Girardi was 81.
