OTTAWA- A LaSalle teenager, one of two teens accused of setting a costly
fire New Years Eve which engulfed a former factory and injured one
fireman, was found guilty of aggravated arson Wednesday. 17 year old
Steven Gallacher chose to have a bench trial rather than a jury trial
meaning a judge rather than a jury heard the case. Gallacher and a 15
year old Peru teenager were accused of torching the old Westclox Clock
Factory building in Peru. The younger suspect has already been
sentenced. That fire kept 30 fire departments busy and caused in excess
of four hundred thousand dollars in damage. Gallacher faces from six to
30 years in prison when's sentenced November 29th.
