EAST PEORIA -People in East Peoria are getting their fill of fried fish.
U-A-W Local 974 is hosting a fish fry to raise money for one of its biggest projects.
During the holiday season -- the union retirees hands out gift bags to residents at Bel-Wood Nursing Home.
To make sure they can afford to do that this year -- they're serving up fish today... but also baked beans, potato salad and desert.
The union says it's important to its retirees to take action during Christmas time.
Jane Evans of UAW Local 974 says, "We do two a year, because we have to have enough money. It costs us around four thousand dollars a year to do our bags and the ponchos and everything we put in to the bags."
Retirees are hoping to raise nearly three thousand dollars.
