MORTON- The community of Morton flexed it's muscles Saturday morning.
Main street hosted the seventh annual Muscles on Main strongman competition. People lifted hundreds of pounds in events like the tire lift, 585 pounds of dead weight.
But the heaviest event includes a 41,000-pound truck, which contestants pull down the street. Organizers say people come from as far as New York and Pennsylvania to compete.
Rob Richardson has planned the event every year and said it's a fun way to test your strength outside of the gym.
"Gives competitors an opportunity to see exactly what they can do. Odd things such as lifting a refrigerator down the street 50 feet, 540 pounds, up to 640 pounds for super heavy weights," Richardson said.
There were also seven strong women at the competition. These women tested their muscles, pulling a hummer and competing with atlas stones; each stone weighs at least 140 pounds.
Richardson said he sees more women competing every year.
