Fire Destroys Home, Kills Two Dogs

NORMAL-- A Normal family is homeless tonight after a fire destroys their mobile home and kills their two dogs.
Normal firefighters responded to the blaze in the 800 block of Eighth Street around 5 p.m. to find flames coming through the roof.
The residents were not home at the time.
The Normal Fire Department received multiple calls about the blaze from residents and from people driving on Interstate 55.
North Meadow residents reported hearing an explosion before the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The Red Cross has been called in to help the family.
