NORMAL--Clean up continues at an Illinois State University children's garden after vandals destroyed much of it this week.
The spot in normal is maintained by ISU's Horticulture Center.
It features art projects and plants donated by the community.
But Wednesday night vandals destroyed many items after police say they drove through the property with their car.
Horticulture Center Director Jessica Chambers says it's painful to see the hard work of so many go to waste.
"They've painted pictures, they've made little caterpillars and they made a xylophone that played music. We just had installed that. To see the things people with a good heart had made torn up. That was the hardest thing," said Chambers.
There's about $3,000 worth of damage to the garden.
Donations to repair it are being accepted.
