PEORIA -- People across the nation are speaking out about the first debate.

The event even set a record on twitter, generating more than ten million tweets.

Locally, we wanted to see what people thought and if it sparked any changes.

Here's the responses we got:

"I think Romney knocked it out of the park. I was a Romney supporter before, but not a strong supporter and after last night I certainly am."

"I think it was really good information from both candidates and I saw things on both sides that came out, that I had never seen before."

"I think that Obama came off very, that he was just not happy to be there. He's usually a really good speaker and he didn't seem to have anything to come back to Romney with."

The next debate will be held on Oct. 11.
