Peoria Native Dana Davis Found Dead

The Peoria sports community is in mourning after learning the sudden death Wednesday of Peoria born Dana Davis, VP of Operations and Team Programs of the Memphis Grizzlies. Davis was found dead in his Memphis apartment. Davis was a graduate of Manual High School and Bradley University and also was director of the annual Mitchel J J Anderson All Star Basketball Camp. Davis was honored last winter as a recipient of the Dr. Martin Luther King Junior Commemorative Service Leadership Award. Peoria Mayor Jim Ardis said Double D was one of a kind and never stopped giving back to the community. Mayor Ardis says Davis was an excellent role model for the youngsters he worked so hard to help.
