As we count down to election day in November, we're looking at where
local candidates stand on the issues. In the race for the 17th
Congressional District seat Democrat Cheri Bustos faces Republican
Incumbent Bobby Schilling. We asked both candidates if we need stricter
gun control laws in
the U.S. to prevent situations like that in Aurora, Colorado
Cheri Bustos: "You know, I'm pro second amendment and I think that we have a lot of hunters in our area, I have a FOID card myself and I have three sons, they're all hunters, and you know, I want to make sure that the second amendment is protected."
Bobby Schilling: "What we need to do is to enforce the laws that are already on the books. You know, I believe in conceal and carry. I believe that the constitution of the United States of America is very clear. It says the right to keep and bear arms, and if you look at the definition of bear, it means on your person. So, I think if we enforce the current laws, that should take care of the problems that we're having."
