Final Countdown To Peoria's New Museum Block

PEORIA -- The countdown is on for a big addition to downtown Peoria.
The Caterpillar Visitor's Center and Riverfront Museum are opening in just 18 days.
Workers are busy putting the finishing touches on both buildings.
Corporate Affairs Director for Caterpillar Jim Baumgartner said the team is excited to unveil the final project, which has been ten years in the making.
He said he hopes it will play a major part in revitalizing downtown Peoria.
Right now, he's gearing up for the big day. "We're not only opening the Visitor's Center but right next door on the same block we're opening the Riverfront Museum, and having a joint grand opening where we expect thousands of people to come for the entire day on Saturday the 20th."
Doors open at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20. It will be open Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
