PEORIA--Three organizations are joining forces to register people to vote in this year's election.
Starting today, Citizen Action of Illinois, Peoria's NAACP, and the West Central Labor Council are holding voter sign up booths throughout the community.
One is at the City Link Bus Station.
Organizers say sometimes it's difficult for those without cars to get involved in the democratic process.
Organizer William McNary hopes by bringing registration to them, more people hit the polls this November.
"It doesn't matter what your party, it doesn't matter your political persuasion. This democracy only works when we lift every voice," McNary explained. "So this is one opportunity that you have to have your voice heard in a very real way."
Booths will also be held at area Kroger stores and the Hy-Vee Supermarket through Friday.
Registration ends next Tuesday.
