PEKIN - Pekin Police are investigating two armed robberies.

The first happened just after midnight Friday at Thornton's gas station in the 2800 block of Court Street.

Police say a Thornton's employee had just withdrawn money from an ATM inside the business when two males approached him and demanded the cash. One suspect put a knife to the victim's stomach. Both suspects had their faces covered.

The second robbery happened around 8:20 p.m. Saturday night at Pizza Hut in the 500 block of Parkway Dr.

Police say a male suspect entered the business, pointed a handgun at an employee and demanded money. The suspect fled on foot.

He's described as a white male, about 5'8" with a thin build. He was clean shaven with short brown hair and wearing a stocking cap, grey hoodie and jeans.

Anyone with information on either robbery is asked to call Pekin Police at (309) 346-3132.
