Leaders in Dunlap are working to keep kids off of drugs.
A program at Dunlap High School is educating parents about what kinds of drugs their kids could be exposed to.
They're talking about those more commonly known like marijuana, but also new types of drugs making an appearance, like K-2 spice.
Parents are encouraged to pay attention to what they're students are doing on the internet, what their student knows about drugs, and most importantly, how to intervene if their child is using drugs.
Dunlap High School Assistant Principal Matt Nordstrom says, "I think the important thing is if we can save a life and be able to have an opportunity for parents to know what's going on in their children's lives...that's the most important message they can hear."
