BLOOMINGTON - Senior citizens are concerned about a cost cutting move in Illinois.
It is one of the many things they were talking about Monday at a senior expo in Bloomington.
The state is ending this year its Illinois Cares Rx program, which covered some prescription drug costs for thousands of senior citizens.
Leaders cut the program, however, due to the state's massive budget deficit.
Nora Piedra said she recently retired and has many things she is concerned about. Insurance coverage is one of them as well.
"I've come out here and I've seen different insurances that you can get yourself into because I think it's important once you get up to retirement age you know what kinds of things we're eligible for," she said.
Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home is in its fifth year of hosting the expo.
Many members of the health and medical community were available to answer questions and discuss options.
