WASHINGTON--Quiet pride motorcycle group met in Washington early Friday morning for their 9th annual prisoner of war/missing in action ride.

The ride is meant to honor the fallen heroes from Illinois that fought in the Vietnam War. The ride takes place every 3rd Friday of September. It starts in Washington and rides through many towns such as Delavan...Tremont...and Morton. Riders say the turn out is always good and also for a good cause.

"We honor these men and women that didn't make it home and try and support the families that deal with it every day" says Ronald Hawotte Jr., event coordinator. "We deal with it one day a year and they deal with it every day."

The riders donate money to children of those who are currently serving over seas. All of the proceeds go to children's Christmas gifts and food.
